THE BRIEF
Produce an image library of landscape, drone, outdoor activity and accommodation photos for use by Magic of Lapland in their rebranding. The photos must feel luxury and high end in line with the brand, and give people the sense of awe of the wilderness that they are going to experience.
THE DETAILS
We settled on a 10 day shoot. This allowed enough time for organised shoots such as the husky sledding and numerous luxury cabins, while still leaving plenty of spare time to explore the local area to scout out the best spots for landscape photography and capturing drone images. It also maximised the chance of experiencing the northern lights, which despite being top of the priority list, was also obviously something that no amount of planning could actually influence!
MATTHEW'S THOUGHTS
What made this trip such a success was that I was allowed plenty of time to capture the local area. Even when photographing somewhere as stunning as Lapland, it takes time to scout out the best spots. Impromptu hikes up fells in search of dramatic light, and a last minute idea to photograph husky sledding at night produced some of my favourite images of the trip that simply wouldn't have happened without the freedom that I was offered.
