This collection of travel and landscape photography from Lapland in Finland has been produced over a few years of visits while photographing commissions for Magic of Lapland. The commission from Magic of Lapland was two-fold. Firstly, to create a new library of images for use in their website and advertising, and secondly to set up a travel and landscape photography holiday.
This brief was fairly broad, which I love. I was asked to capture landscape photographs of the local scenery that could be headline images in large advertising campaigns, but also to produce new accommodation photos and focus on the activities that clients would take part in on a day to day basis. I captured images of everything I came across, from the northern lights and stunning snow-covered landscape to snowmobiling, husky-sledding and even got to photograph the real Santa!
We have now also set up an action-packed, adventure-filled Lapland photography holiday. Using husky sleds, snowmobiles and snow-shoes, we will explore Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park and the area surrounding Akaslompolo. I can’t even begin to describe how beautiful the area is, especially at the start of December. At times, the sky is filled with cool pink and bright red sunset colours for hours at a time! We will of course also head out to hunt for the northern lights.
