ABOUT "DEDICATION"

Kweli has spent the last two days hunting with no success. It is a process of repetition, and a display of her dedication and commitment to the survival of her three 11 month old cubs.

She climbs the highest lookout she can find, scans the horizon for potential prey and then heads of in that direction. Every hour or so, Kweli and her cubs are forced to slip into the shade of an Acacia Tree to avoid the baking heat of the sun.

I saw Kweli regularly during the month I spent photographing in the Maasai Mara. This photo was taken during a three day stint that I spent almost exclusively following Kweli and her cubs, aiming to capture a series of photographs that encapsulate the spirit of her dedication to her cubs. The name of the game for both of us was patience.

All photos are limited to just 50 prints in total, with 10 at each of the largest two sizes, 25 spread across the smaller sizes, and 5 'Artist Editions' which can be printed at any size above the largest size. Each artwork also comes numbered, with a signature, and with a certificate of authenticity ensuring you receive a genuinely unique piece of artwork.

Hahnemuhle Photo Rag

All limited edition fine art prints are produced on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag 308gsm, a heavy-duty 100% cotton rag paper. I have chosen this paper for its beautiful, but subtle texture and matte finish, which has the highest industry standards for colour reproduction and sharpness. This ensures the optimum detail, contrast and colour depth.

Sizing

All print sizes refer to the paper size, which includes numbering, signature and a c1.5cm white border. If you are purchasing an unframed print, this allows space for framing as seen in the photo below. As such the actual image size is a few centimeters smaller than the paper size. When purchasing framed prints, there is a c1.5cm white border between the print and mount.

Framing & Mounting

As standard, framing comes with a choice of black or white wooden frames, made with sustainably sourced wood from FSC approved forests and are delivered ready to hang on your wall. All mounting and framing uses acid-free, archival materials, which maximises the life of the artwork. The extra thick 2.4mm mount board adds a deeper feel to the finished artwork. I am aware that framing can be a very personal decision depending on where the final artwork will hang, so please do get in touch first if you would like to discuss options.
